Hi, I’m Leona Nguyen — the writer, editor, and solo voice behind reverbpublishing.com.
If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind the WoW guides, updates, and long-form opinions on this site, this is where I get to properly introduce myself. I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since 2005, and not a single year has gone by where I haven’t logged in. Sometimes less, sometimes a lot more — but always with one eye on what Blizzard’s up to.
I grew up in Manchester, in a flat over my parents’ small takeaway. It wasn’t a quiet place to game, but I made it work. My first computer was a hand-me-down from my cousin, and the first time I ran WoW on it, I could barely stay above 20 FPS. But the game pulled me in right away. I created a Night Elf Priest and got stuck for an hour trying to figure out how to leave Teldrassil.
Over the years, I’ve played almost every class, and I’ve raided in all difficulties. I’ve taken part in casual guilds and sweaty Mythic groups. I’ve rage quit more than once — and come back a few days later. I’ve farmed rare mounts, completed holiday events, and wasted gold on gear upgrades right before a nerf. If you’ve done something in WoW, there’s a good chance I’ve done it too — or failed at it, learned from it, and wrote a guide about it.
I’m not a pro player. I’m not sponsored, partnered, or hired by any company. I’m just a long-time player who loves this game and knows how to explain things clearly. That’s what reverbpublishing.com is built on — experience, honesty, and useful content that comes from actually playing.
Why I Created This Site
I started this site after noticing that most WoW content either felt rushed, overloaded with ads, or aimed at players who already knew everything. That’s not helpful when you’re coming back after a break, switching mains, or just want a guide that makes sense.
I wanted a space where I could write full guides — not based on what everyone else is saying, but based on what I tested in-game. I don’t write to chase clicks or SEO tricks. I write because someone out there is probably stuck the same way I was, and they need a simple answer.
Every post here is written by me. No team. No ghostwriters. No copy-pasting from Wowhead or Icy Veins. I run the dungeons, test the builds, and format the content myself. That’s why it might take a few days longer than other sites to publish patch notes or boss guides — but when I post something, I know it works.
What I Focus On
I write about what I know best:
- Class guides: What talents feel right, what rotations are smooth, and what mistakes people usually make.
- Raid tips: Real-world advice for players who aren’t in top-500 guilds but still want to clear content.
- Mythic+: Weekly affix tips, dungeon routes, and role-specific tricks that I test live before writing.
- UI and addons: Clean, no-nonsense setups that improve your gameplay without overwhelming you.
- Opinion pieces: When something changes in the game — good or bad — I write about how it really affects the way we play.
I don’t cover PvP as much, mostly because I don’t do high-level arena anymore. I still jump into random battlegrounds and dabble in solo shuffle, but I’ll never pretend to be an expert where I’m not.
My Main Characters
People often ask what I main. The answer is: it changes often. Right now, I’m playing a Resto Shaman and a Fire Mage. Last patch it was a Guardian Druid. Before that, a Paladin. I like trying new specs every season because it helps me write better, broader content.
I play on EU servers and raid a few times a week with a tight-knit guild that’s more about progress than pressure. We aim for Ahead of the Curve every tier, and we usually dip into Mythic once Heroic is cleared.
Outside of WoW
I live in Reading, Berkshire, with my partner Ethan and our two dogs. I work from home full-time now, running this site and doing a bit of freelance writing when time allows. Before this, I worked in tech support for six years. I think that’s where I got used to explaining things in plain English — a skill that helps every time I write a new guide.
When I’m not playing WoW or writing about it, I’m usually watching crime documentaries, gardening in our tiny backyard, or trying to cook something that doesn’t come out of a packet. I don’t stream. I’m not on Twitch. I prefer to stay behind the keyboard.
Why You Can Trust What You Read Here
Everything I write is based on actual experience. I don’t rush to be first — I wait until I’ve tested things myself. I don’t recommend builds I haven’t played or dungeons I haven’t cleared. If something changes after a patch or hotfix, I go back, update the content, and make sure it’s still accurate.
I also read every email. Whether it’s a quick “thanks,” a question about trinket choices, or a long story about your WoW journey — I see it, and I try to reply to all of it. That connection with other players is the best part of running this site.
